H.P. SeussCraft

H.P. SeussCraft was born on a fog-choked Tuesday in Sprangfield, Massachusetts — a town that appears on no map drawn after 1904, and on several drawn before 1602. The only child of a lighthouse keeper and a children's librarian, young H.P. spent his boyhood shelving picture books by day and listening to his father describe the things that circled the lighthouse beam by night. Both occupations, he later wrote, "taught me the same lesson: everything wants to be read to."
